The scan resolution of the HP Deskjet 3636 is, like its predecessor, 1,200 x 1,2000 dpi. It’s good. Especially for the low price.

Print quality and speed

The print quality also remained identical to its predecessor: 4,800 x 1,200 DPI in one color print, 1,200 x 1,200 DPI in black and white printing. This is a very good value, which brings the full score in our test.

The speed of printing is very good for an inkjet printer. In black and white the 3636 prints slightly faster than in color.

The setup of the HP Deskjet 3636 is very simple and intuitive. Here is a little guide to the initial setup:

• Open the drawer on the front of the HP printer.
• Remove the box. In it you will find cables and cartridges.
• Plug the HP Deskjet 3636 into a power source.
• Switch on the device with the on button.
• Wait until the cartridges retain the center.
• Attach the two cartridges to the brackets. Be careful not to swap color / black.
• Close the front cover.
• Connect the device to your computer via USB.
• Insert the enclosed CD into the drive of your computer and follow the instructions.
• Particularly useful are the mobile apps that are available for the device. This can be directly from the phone or tablet start a print. Even wireless over WLAN – for us very convenient!

Another nice feature of the app is the ability to read various information about the printer (such as the current level of the cartridges or print reports).

If you want to use the apps, we recommend that you choose the version of the HP Desjket 3636 that supports Wi-Fi.

Costs

Running costs are generally higher for inkjet multifunction printers. The HP Deskjet is no different. Although you save on the purchase but your running costs are higher. If you print a little but that is little to beat.
